Streetwear is boring. Check out The Berrics’ Butteryass Week

You heard me right.  Streetwear is boring.

I just peeped this video on Jungle Life and thought it was Hillayreeous.  It’s from The Berrics, Steve Berra and Eric Koston’s skatepark.  I guess they like, produced it, or something.

Supreme x Kermit the Frog = madness in NY

I’m sure everyone and their mom has heard the news about the Supreme x Kermit mash up.  I think it’s a cute idea, I mean we all love Kermit.  He is, after all, the dopest frog in all of recorded history.

But you would have to pay me a grip of money to wake up early and get in this line for hours to get me a Kermit tee.

It’s the streetwear sheep flocking to the frog.  Forgive my pessimism, I’m starting to sound like Satchel.

Venice Beach Boardwalk - We skate and look fresh too

I went down to Venice Beach Boardwalk (There’s really no boards on the boardwalk, it’s just cement) the other day.  It was the first time I’d been there in a while.  Besides the local loons, bad hippie artists, tourists and crap-selling vendors, I met some real cool, uber-hip skaters.

These dudes were pimpin the no-brand name streetwear look.  Not only that, but they could skate.  Big ups for keepin Venice Beach fresh, fellas.

And on a food note… next time your at Venice Boardwalk, stop at Big Daddy’s right by the skatepark for some chili cheese fries.  They were bomb.  Sliced like potato chips, crispy on the edges, loaded with chili and cheese.

Grind King artist series trucks

“Nice trucks.”

Grind King has teamed up with a slew of artists to release a slew of customized skateboard trucks. Here’s just a few:

Some of the work on this project include the graphic styles of Griffin One, San Francisco self-proclaines “starving artist” Adapt-One, my personal favorite: local LA artist Zoso and a whole bunch more.

The truck is sort of the last frontier of style on your skateboard. Decks have of course had graphics on them for years, wheels have designs, even griptape comes in different colors. Trucks however have, for the most part, been silver for a long time. Obviously if you’re a real skateboarder these designs aren’t going to last very long. However, if I were to buy a pair they would last a lifetime.

Props to Grind King for a unique idea and a good looking product.
